International Society of Trace Elements in the Environment

Membership

Why Join ISTEE?

Becoming a member of the International Society of Trace Elements in the Environment (ISTEE) connects you with a global community of professionals dedicated to advancing research and solutions related to trace elements and environmental pollution. Through an international network, you gain access to international conferences, collaborative opportunities, and educational resources.

All ISTEE members—regular, student, and fellows—are entitled to vote at membership meetings. Only regular members and fellows may also hold elective office and serve on the Executive Board and committees.

Eligibility

Membership is open to individuals who support ISTEE’s mission and are active in environmental science or related fields such as soil science, ecology, biochemistry, marine sciences, analytical chemistry, and more.

How to Join

There are two ways to become a member:

  • Conference Registration: By registering for the biennial ISTEE Conference, you automatically become an ISTEE member at the start of the conference. It remains valid until the next conference. Members who attended the previous conference but cannot attend the next may reapply through a petition to the Executive Board.
  • Direct Application: If you cannot attend the conference, you can apply for membership to the ISTEE directly. To that purpose, a membership form will soon be available. Membership becomes active once processed by the Executive Board and extends until the next upcoming ISTEE Conference. While regular membership will be in effect immediately upon payment, student membership needs to be approved by the Executive Board.
